UFC on Fuel 4: Muñoz vs. Weidman – Fight Results

Written by MMARecap Staff on . Posted in Results

UFC on Fuel 4 took place this Wednesday night at the HP Pavilion. The fans at the HP Pavilion as well as the viewers at home were treated to a great night of fights. The main event on paper really seemed like it would be a close affair, but we saw a one-sided performance by Chris Weidman over Mark Muñoz.  Weidman outwrestled Muñoz in the first round, and in the second Weidman caught Muñoz coming in with a viscous elbow that dropped Muñoz to the floor. From there Weidman rained down with punches until he was pulled off by referee, Josh Rosenthol. In the post fight speech, Weidman called out champion, Anderson Silva, for his next fight and alerted the UFC brass that every time he has had a full camp, he has gotten a finish. Weidman improves his undefeated record to 9-0.

In the co-main event James Te-Huna and Joey Beltran put on a 3 round war. Beltran, who was making his light heavyweight debut, took a five minute beating in the first round, and was almost finished multiple times. Beltran was able to survive, and came out in the second and the third bring the fight to Te-Huna. At the end of the second, Beltran almost dropped Te-Huna, but the whole fight all together belonged to Te-Huna. They broke the record for most significant strikes landed in one fight in the light heavyweight division, and Te-Huna did more than enough to get the unanimous decision.
