Charlie Radtke – During The Fight I Am Trying To Kill You

XFO Rocktown Showdown: Charlie Radtke vs Wyatt Hickey

XFO Rocktown Showdown: Charlie Radtke vs Wyatt Hickey

Charlie Radtke has been making a name for himself fighting on the amateur circuit. He most recently picked up a victory at Rocktown Showdown 15 against Wyatt Hickey and with the victory decided to move pro. Radtke is a very talented fighter and now he wants to get paid for his fights. MMARecap caught up with Radtke to talk about his fight with Wyatt, turning pro and more.

How’s it going today?
Everything is going good. Training is hard. I only took one day off then back in the gym. I got a couple more weeks and more preparation.

You just got done with a training session then?
I was just in the gym. Me, Pat, and all the high level guys in the gym. I will be ready for another session of sparring tonight.

You just came off a fight at Rocktown Showdown against Wyatt Hickey. The fight was short lasting just under a minute but you got hit with a big punch early on. How hurt were you?
The thing is with me, I can play off pretty well. He rattled me really well as I couldn’t remember too much of the fight. Somebody like me I come for the kill every time. If I am dazed or whatever. My name speaks for itself. That’s a true fact. You saw it that night. No matter what happens. If I am awake, I am going to knock you out. I have the power and the ability and the people around me to do it.

You showed composure and came back quickly and then it was you who started landing and ultimately earning the TKO victory. Was that how you saw that fight playing out?
Brett (one of my cornermen) identified that he was a smaller guy and looks more like a wrestler. Once I started landing my good clean punches he would get flustered and come at me. The game plan was to stay real cool and come forward. I wanted to keep my punches going straight down the pipe and wait for him to go wild and capitalize. That’s what happened. He was no joke. I got all the respect for people, but before and during the fight I am trying to kill you.

Your next fight is set for the Sears Centre as you make your pro debut at XFO 46. What lead to the decision to turn pro?
What it was is Charlie wasn’t getting paid for doing this thing. Everyone at the gym felt the same way. It wasn’t like I was the one choosing. Jeff said if I won that fight I could turn pro. This is the way I am being calm. Me being a 55er I am a big big guy. It’s going to be really tough for the people that I fight. I pray for my opponents.

Is your brother turning pro as well?
He’s staying amateur for one more fight at the Sears Centre and then I think he is going to be going pro. He’s been doing really well as well.

Your opponent Bobby Moffett is also turning pro, what can you tell me about him?
The funny thing is I never know too much about my guy. Until I get to the big leagues, it is almost like a street fight. You have that killer instinct. You can take it and see how it goes. The people around you can let you know how it goes. And personally with this guy, I see myself knocking him out. If it doesn’t, it will be a quick submission with me on top. I am in a really good mindset right now.

What are your goals for 2013?
I want to go to the big show. I want to fight the best people around here no matter what cause I will win. I am looking to go to Bellator and win that tournament. I’m looking to go to the UFC. I want to be the best fighter of all time.

Any sponsors or people you want to thank?
Me and my grandpa’s business is Lester’s Bison Farm and that’s it.

XFO Rocktown Showdown: Charlie Radtke vs Wyatt Hickey

Rocktown Showdown 15 took place last weekend at Giovanni’s in Rockford Illinois and was arguably one of the best amateur cards ever in the Chicagoland area. Below are the full fight videos of some of our favorite fights. All fights are available to purchase on DVD via http://www.mmadvdonline.com/

Sergio Rios vs Armondo Calderon was the fifth fight of the night and was absolutely amazing. Prior to the bout the total fight experience for the two fighters was a single fight. Neither fighter fought like it was his first time inside the cage and both showed a lot of composure.

Rene Alvarado vs Matt Willard was a fun fight for us. Alvarado clearly had a height and reach disadvantage but that didn’t matter as he swarmed Willard right away and was able to get a nice takedown.

Wyatt Hickey vs Charlie Radtke is being featured as it is Charlie’s last fight as an amateur. What was impressive about this fight was both Radtke and Hickey landed a big punch and hurt the other and were able to come back.

XFO 44

XFO 44

XFO 44 returned to the Sears Center for another fantastic night of both amateur and professional fights. Four of the five professional fights saw special guest referee Big John McCarthy inside the cage. In the main event Will Brooks continued his unbeaten streak with a first round finish over Taureen Bogguess.

Nate Beach vs Ken Hulbert
Beach opened the round with a body kick, but Hulbert responded with jabs. Hulbert then landed a good uppercut and Beach clinched to look for a takedown. Hulbert reversed and pressed Beach into the cage and was able to take Beach’s back and wrestle him to the ground. Beach was able to secure a bulldog headlock to defend his own back, and locked in a crazy looking armbar from the position. He gave it up and both fighters exchanged punches as they stood up.

The second round Hulbert again landed the uppercut but it was while Beach was working for a takedown. Beach was successful and he utilized a stacking pass to get to side control and then to mount. He started to work small punches before returning to side control to throw more punches. Hulbert wasn’t defending many of the punches and when he finally raised his arms to block, Beach grabbed ahold and looked for a keylock. The submission wasn’t there so he punched Hulbert a couple more times before standing to drop a big right. He then moved to mount and the punches started coming down fast but the end of the round ended, saving Hulbert.

Beach was first to land, a right hand, then shot and got the takedown. It looked like more of the same from the second round as Beach worked his positioning, tried to bait Hulbert into a submission, couldn’t get it, and then punched him. Hulbert was able to tie up Beach well the first time this happened and got a stand up, but the second takedown he couldn’t defend. Beach’s corner started calling for knees to the body from side control and after landing a couple he got the mount. Much like the second round, the punches were coming down fast and strong, only this time, Hulbert wasn’t saved by the bell.

Von Aulock vs Radtke
Ground control from Radtke early in the match against the cage wall after a heated exchange of punches. Von Aulock attempted a triangle from the bottom, but stuffed by Radtke with hand position and posture. Radtke moved from side control, then quickly into mount after a quick adjustment. Von Aulock bucked and moved out from the bottom. Radtke was able to adjust and take the back for a few seconds. Both men stood up and fought for control with headlocks. Radtke took the advantage and went for the D’arce choke by dragging the fight to the floor. Once they hit the floor Radtke circled into Von Aulock for the tap.

Radtke defeated Aulock via Tapout due to D’arce choke at 2.47 of round one

Rose vs. Moffett: Lightweight
Rose took the center, but it’s Moffett landed the first significant punch. After a huge body lock slam, Moffett delivered more punches and the ref called the fight. A huge gash on the back of Rose’s head that will need stitches.

Moffett defeated Rose via TKO at .29 of round one

Hastings vs. Mayer: 164 pounds
Hastings took the center while Mayer through hand faints. Hastings shuffled his feet towards Mayer and delivered a strong right hand to drop Mayer. He then moved in quickly to finish the fight. The ref moved in to rescue Mayer.

Hastings defeated Mayer via KO at .24 of round one

Gaut vs. Seeberger: Flyweight
Seeberger swarmed early, but Gaut went in for a single leg takedown. Seeberger countered with a guillotine choke against the cage wall. Gaut repositioned himself to avoid the choke as they restarted in the center. Seeberger scored a takedown from body lock and outside leg trip. As Gaut fought to get out from the bottom, Seeberger took the back and slipped his arms around the neck for the choke.

Seeberger defeated Gaut due to Tapout via RNC at 1.45 of round one

PRO
Haney vs. Killion: Bantamweight
Haney opened up with a head kick that was blocked by Killion. Quickly followed up with a body lock leg trip takedown into Killion’s guard against the cage wall. Haney landed a few ground and pound punches, but Killion countered with an arm bar attempt. Haney picked up Killion and swung him around like a helicopter then slammed him down to the mat. Killion held on to armbar attempt after two slams. Haney moved the action to the cage and work his out way out of the armbar to capture the back. Haney sat down against the cage to work in his arms for a choke. Killion turns to be on top, but Haney shifted his legs into a triangle attempt. Killion smartly pushed his legs aside to end in side control. Haney reverses to position himself in guard. Killion again went for an armbar attempt as the round closes. Haney sounded out in pain then tapped out.

Josh Killion defeated Haney due to Tapout via armbar at 4.42 of round one

P. Williams vs. J. Williams: Bantamweight
Bout opened up with an evenly match of takedown attempts and then stuffed. Fast moving action as the bantamweights moved around the whole cage to start. P. Williams scored a leg kick to the body early. J. Williams moved in with punches for a takedown against the cage, but P. Williams showed more takedown defense. P. Williams connected on a solid head kick with his lead leg. Impressive for J. Williams taking the kick and didn’t get knocked out. J. Williams moved in for a clinch as the round ended.

Round two – P. Williams connected again with an inside leg kick and straight right hand. J. Williams scored a takedown, but P. Williams quickly got back to his feet. At this point it seemed that P. Williams got the better of the striking and J. Williams can’t take him down long enough to do damage. J. Williams connected with a left hook after letting go of a takedown attempt. J. Williams moved in for another takedown, but P. Williams reversed it to end in side control. The crowd erupted with approval. P. Williams attempted a kimura from the top and used it to gain the mount. J. Williams was saved by the bell as P. Williams secured an arm triangle.

Round three – Another low kick to start the round from P. Williams. J. Williams attempted to turn it into a takedown, but P. Williams stuffed it again. Knees delivered by P. Williams as he was held against the cage. J. Williams connected with another left hook then pushed forward with a flurry that P. Williams took against the cage then circled out of it. More punches landed form J. Williams as he went in for takedowns and didn’t get them. P. Williams now showed damage with blood out of his left eye as the fight ended.

J. Williams defeated P. Wiliiams via Split Decision (29-28; 29-28; 29-28)

Beebe vs. Baskis: Lightweight
Both men closed in and exchanged punches to the heads. The match seemed even with strikes thrown, landed, takedowns and clinch work. Beebe scored the takedown into guard to gain the first dominant position in the bout. Baskis worked up with legs for high guard while Beebe issued ground and pound. Beebe showed damage by bleeding on Baskis from the top position. Baskis tried to work butterfly guard to lift Beebe off of himself, but he recognized that and fought back into full guard. Beebe moved over for a guillotine choke as Baskis tried to fight out of the bottom. Baskis popped his head out to end the round on top and landed ground and pound as the round ended.

Round two – Baskis opened up with a solid kick to the liver. Beebe delivered punches to get back into the fight. Baskis started to bleed from his right eye from Beebe’s punches in this round alone. Beebe started to find his range with his hands as he lands combos as Baskis darts in and out of distance. The two fighters trade body kicks. Beebe was putting a lot of energy into each punch as he threw small combos.

Round three – Baskis slipped to the mat after an exchange and Beebe swarmed in for ground and pound. Baskis was clever enough to tie Beebe’s feet up with his legs. Beebe managed to get into guard, but not with out heavy effort. Beebe stood up to deliver punches and fell into half guard. More ground and pound from Beebe followed with punches and elbows. A stalemate on the floor while the fighters are in guard. Beebe steps out of guard and they reset in the middle. Beebe still able to land punches and Baskis still able to land kicks. Beebe secured another takedown with the winding seconds of the fight.

Chase Beebe defeated Mike Baskis via Unanimous Decision

Mike Budnik vs. Adamson: Lightweight
Budnik immediately shot in for a double leg takedown and moved around and took the back of Adamson. Budnik sunk in the hooks while Adamson delivered a back elbow. With Adamson flattened out, Budnik delivered punches to the sides of Adamson‘s head. Budnik moved into a body triangle against the cage. Adamson created a scramble and moved into Budnik’s guard in top position. Adamson moved out of guard to deliver a body kick and knee to the face of Budnik. Budnik with another takedown attempt that turned into a guillotine choke in full guard and Adamson had no choice by to tap.

Mike Budnik defeated Adamson due to Tapout via guillotine choke at 4.30 of round one

Books recovered from a takedown by Bogguess to end up in Bogguess’ guard and worked ground and pound. Bogguess started to bleed from above his right eye from elbows. Brooks was in full guard and then delivered several elbows that the crowd cheered for. Books got out of guard and went to knee on belly for more ground and pound. Bogguess was able to sit on his heels, but Books took the opportunity to knee his sternum. Then more ground and pound followed with unanswered elbows and punches from Bogguess. XFO Fight Night took place at Offsides Bar and Grill in Woodstock, IL on January 21st. The XFO officially put on nine amateur fights for a night of MMA action. Mmarecap was on site to bring you the play-by-play and results.

Nick Dunski vs Shawn Bridgeman
A shot early from Bridgeman was stopped when Dunski snatched a guillotine. Bridgeman defended, but was still stuck in the choke, and he waited it out until the fighters eventually stood. Another shot from Bridgeman earned him top position briefly. Dunski stood to his feet. The trend continued as Bridgeman again shot for a takedown, and the round soon ended. Dunski scored another takedown and mounted Bridgeman. Some body work was delivered to Bridgeman’s ribs. From mount, Dunski stood and landed heavy looping shots as Bridgeman called it quits.

Brian Radtke vs Shawn Sullivan
Radtke hammered Sullivan with a right hand early and rushed in with heavy leather. He jumped into mount, and after a shower of punches, the referee saved Sullivan from further damage.

Geovanni Greco vs David Sorenson
Sorenson shot in immediately, and Greco stalled the position out. The wrestling of Sorenson continued as he tried to climb a stalling Greco. He briefly took the back of Greco, but the fight returned to the stalled shot soon. Sorenson won the uneventful round.  Sorenson slammed a heavy leg kick into Grecos thigh early. Two kicks, three kicks, and Greco was definitely feeling the kicks. Greco soon returned the favor with a kick that caused Sorenson to fall. He jumped back to his feet, and a take-down for Sorenson later earned him Greco’s back. He rained down a storm of strikes and Greco tapped under the fire. However, the flurry continued to rain, because Referee Mark Wallen somehow did not notice that Greco was frantically tapping. Team Curran screamed to stop the fight, and finally Wallen jumped in and made the call.

Cody Richards vs Alan Marugg
Marugg and Richards opened with a brawl before Marugg took Richards to the ground. Marugg began to land big body shots and delivered a flurry from the top, causing Richards to tap.

Anthony Schott vs Stan Janeczko
Janeczko initially got into the cage with his shoes on, but the cage officials noticed and had him remove them. The heavyweights collided immediately in a barnstorming brawl. Schott took Janeczko down and mounted him. Schott turned over and received a heavy flurry. Janeczko covered up as Schott continued the attack, and soon after the fight was stopped.

Mike Mahurin vs Tim Holman
Holman shot a double-leg take-down and finished it with an exclamation point. He dropped heavy bombs from the top position to a bellied out Holman.  The fight was over just as quick as it began.

Skyler Petrancosta vs Tyler Reece
Petrancosta shot in early and Reece reversed. After some brief guard work Petrancosta stood but was caught in a guillotine. Reese cranked the choke and Petrancosta tapped, and seemingly passed out at last second. The referee didn’t see the immediate tap because he was at a bad angle.

Charlie Radtke vs Michael Dann
Double jab and big take-down from Radtke scored early. Dann held onto a guillotine attempt that turned into more of a headlock as Radtke was clear from danger. Radtke worked to break free from side control and finally did. He took Dann’s back and delivered a flurry, prompting the ref to jump in and stop the right. Radtke pulled free from the referee and continued punching his already finished opponent. The referee grabbed Radtke and pulled him away as the crowd protested the sportsmanship of Radtke immediately with boo’s.

Gram Livermoore vs Daniel Flora
Flora shot for a takedown and it was stuffed by Livermoore. Flora eventually finished a takedown and took Livermoore to the mat. Flora moved to mount and flurried. Livermoore tried to move, but his only defense was to lay covering his head. The lack of movement caused the referee to jump in and stop the fight.

“XFO 41: Outdoor War 7″ Results And Recap

Written by MMARecap Staff on . Posted in Results

XFO 41: Outdoor War 7 took place at Sideouts Bar and Grill in Island Lake, Illinois. The day of action saw twenty seven mixed martial arts fights. The amateurs kicked the day off just after 2pm and the pros took to the cage around 8pm after a rain delay.

The professional card saw many fan favorites including Eric Schafer, Chris Albandia, Will Brooks, Christian Reynoso, Greg Reddington, Kent Rexford and Joey Diehl.

A full recap of the professional fights as well as the quick results from the event can be found here.

The first professional fight of the night was quick as Chris Haney needed just ten seconds to knock Dexter Wright out cold. Haney came out with a big leg kick, reset and then threw a high kick that sent Wright to the canvas unconscious.

Team Curran’s Mike Marrello made his return to action against Brad Scholten. Marrello opened with a big leg kick, and Scholten tried to counter. Scholten then threw a leg kick of his own, but Marrello caught it and threw a straight right. He followed it up with a high kick that rocked Scholten. Marrello quickly swarmed and nearly finished, but Scholten started to regain his composure. Marrello passed to mount and landed punch after punch and elbow after elbow. Scholten tried to use the cage to escape but ultimate gave up his back. Once Marrello had his back, he sunk in a fight ending rear naked choke.

Up next was fan favorite Kent Rexford taking on Quartus Stitt. Stitt came out with a leg kick and rushing jabs that forced Rexford against the cage. Both fighters exchanged knees before Rexford landed a clean uppercut. Stitt landed a low knee and time was called for him to recover. After the restart the fighters quickly clinched again and dirty boxed. Rexford decided to put the fight on the ground and had a beautiful trip takedown landing in mount. Stitt was able to quickly pull guard, but he spent nearly the rest of the round on his back eating punches and elbows. At one point Stitt escaped and got back to his feet, but was quickly taken down again. At the start of the second round Rexford landed a big uppercut on Stitt as he was rushing forward. Rexford followed with a swarm of punches and Stitt appeared to defend well. Rexford continued his assault and Stitt gave up his back, only to eat more punches forcing the ref to stop the fight.

Flyweights Joey Diehl and Josh Epps went to war. Diehl tried to keep his distance with leg kicks and a push kick. Epps landed a straight jab and as Diehl was backing up, he slipped on the canvas. Epps landed a massive knee that was heard through out the arena. Diehl quickly recovered and took the fight to the ground. Diehl worked for a heel hook, but couldn’t get it. He then transitioned to an arm triangle and it looked tight. Epps kept his composure and worked to escape, forcing Diehl to let go of the choke. Diehl from the mount threw a big elbow and then again looked to finish with the arm triangle choke. This time he was able to get the right pressure as Epps tapped out just as he was about to go to sleep.

Will Brooks kept his undefeated streak going by submitting Joe Richardson. Brooks opened the fight with a high kick that just barely missed the mark. Both fighters looked to box and it was Brooks who was getting the better of the exchanges. Brooks then dropped down and scored a big takedown on Richardson landing in side control. Richardson didn’t panic and he was able to escape and stand back up. Brooks again looked for the high kick and just missed and Richardson tried for one of his own. Brooks immediately took the fight to the ground again and worked elbows from half guard. While trying to pass to mount, Richardson gave up his back and Brooks controlled from there. Richardson tried to stand up and Brooks looked to suplex him, but Richardson quickly dropped back down to the canvas. Brooks transitioned to an armbar from the back and fought for it. Richardson defended it for a bit, but once the arm was fully extended he had no choice but to tap.

Greg Reddington and Christian Reynoso put on an action packed three-round fight. Reddington was making his professional debut and didn’t look nervous at all. Reddington in the first round took the fight down after a body kick by Reynoso. Reddington was patient in looking for his openings for attacking and capitalized when they were there. Not finding much to work with, Reddington stood up and let Reynoso stand too. With both fighters clinched against the cage, Reynoso jumped for a guillotine, but Reddington was able to escape. The second and third round were much of the same as both fighters looked to start the fight out strong. Both times it was Reddington who landed the better combo and then took the fight to the ground. Reddington controlled the action on the ground and ultimately won the unanimous decision.

The co-main event featured Casey Dyer taking on Dan Aguirre. Both fighters looked to just go out and let it all out. Both fighters were exchanging kick after kick and punch after punch. There was hardly any time where either fighter was not throwing a strike. The fighters worked from the clinch and threw multiple knees. Dyer decided to change the game up with a takedown and scored it rather easily. Unfortunately he left his neck open and Aguirre grabbed a hold of it with a guillotine choke and squeezed until Dyer tapped.

Eric Schafer and Chris Albandia headlined the night of action. The fight marked the first fight for both fighters in fifteen months and the first fight for Schafer at middleweight. Albandia took the center of the cage and looked to keep Schafer on the outside with leg kicks. Schafer landed a right hand that seemed to hurt Albandia and followed it up with another combo that definitely rocked his opponent. Albandia then shot for a takedown and Schafer grabbed a guillotine. Albandia escaped and was patient working body punches. Schafer grabbed Albandia’s arm and then threw it outside of his leg to set up the triangle choke. After a quick adjustment, the choke was in tight and Albandia was forced to tap.

Fightcard Entertainment “FCE 38: Cross the Line” Results and Recap

Written by MMARecap Staff on . Posted in Results

Fight Card Entertainment invaded Joe’s Bar and Grill on Weed street in downtown Chicago.  “FCE 38: Cross the Line” featured eight amateur mixed martial arts fights with a stellar main event featuring Matt Tierney and Danny Morales for the FCE welterweight title.  Read on for the full recap of the action and quick results.

The first fight of the night was an exciting welterweight matchup featuring Robert Lewis and Tom Kriplin.  In the first round Lewis and Kriplin looked to exchange, but Lewis quickly attempted a takedown.  Kriplin reversed and scored a takedown of his own.  Kriplin looked for ground and pound, but Lewis was able to push off and stand up.  Once on their feet, Lewis clinched and landed a big knee that took Kriplin’s legs out.  Lewis quickly jumped on the back, but Kriplin somersaulted and reversed the position.  Kriplin was able to get the mount as time ran out in the round.  The second round Kriplin quickly got a takedown and worked vicious ground and pound.  Kriplin landed some serious knees to the body of Lewis while trying to pass to the mount.  Kriplin got the mount and started raining down strikes.  Kriplin nearly ended the fight, but time expired in the round.  The third round Kriplin landed a right hand before taking Lewis down.  From half guard, Kriplin worked several strikes to the body and head until the ref was forced to stop the action.

Heavyweights were up next and Maurice Greene and Jason Miller put on a fantastic fight.  In the first round Greene tried to utilize his reach advantage on Miller, but Miller was able to frustrate Greene with his movement and closed the distance.  Greene landed a left high kick that excited the crowd.  With time running out Miller shot for a takedown, but ate a big knee instead.  In the second round Miller looked to throw leg kicks to throw Greene off his balance.  Greene landed a fantastic front kick that sent Miller to the canvas.  Greene quickly pounced and landed several short uppercuts that bloodied up Miller.  Greene stood up and threw a massive knee to the body and then continued his punches sending blood into the crowd.  Miller couldn’t defend and the ref halted the action.

After an intermission to clean up all the blood shed in the last fight, lightweight Logan West and Charlie Radtke went to battle.  Radtke came out with a big right and West shot for a takedown.  Radtke defended and worked for a guillotine, but West was able to escape and stand up.  Radtke continued the pressure with strikes and West stalled him with a big body kick.  Radtke then shot for a takedown and never let up the pressure as he threw multiple lefts.  After standing up and landing some heavy shots, Radtke landed several big rights and then was like a machine gun with his punches forcing a stop to the fight.

Wanting to follow his brother’s victory, Brian Radtke looked for the victory over Franco Martinez.  The first round Radtke looked for a double leg takedown and got it.  Martinez had a high guard looking to quickly submit Radtke, but Radtke stood up and slammed him to the ground.  Radtke worked multiple strikes and Martinez threatened with submission.  Radtke stood up to drop a big right hand, but instead went for a heel hook.  Martinez punched his way out, but Radtke remained on top. Martinez had a beautiful sweep to get the mount on Radtke, however Radtke then swept Martinez and was back in his guard.  Radtke finished the round with punches and the round ended with Martinez nearly getting an armbar.  The second round started and the fighters quickly clinched.  Radtke landed a big knee and then quickly got Martinez’s back while standing.  Radtke worked for a rear naked choke while standing and got it.  The fighters fell to the canvas and Radtke was able to tighten the choke forcing Martinez to tap.

Lightweight Omar Diaz was the crowd favorite against Ken Hansen.  The first round  had the crowd really going as both fighters were causing damage to each other.  Diaz grabbed a clinch and threw multiple knees that found Hansen’s face.  Hansen would land uppercuts from the clinch, forcing Diaz to separate and create distance.  Diaz continued with jabs and Hansen looked to be in trouble, but was able to recover and land punches of his own.  In the second round Diaz continued his jab and quickly bloodied Hansen up.  Seeing the blood just flow from Hansen’s nose, Diaz was relentless with his punches.  Hansen never went down, but ate several shots and was unable to intelligently defend himself forcing the ref to stop the striking clinic.

After another brief intermission, featherweights Richard Dey and Rudy Behena were up next.  Dey landed a high kick, one-two, high kick combo, but Behena defended and was able to get Dey’s back.  Behena had a fantastic belly to back suplex and quickly got the mount.  Behena nearly finished the fight with his ground and pound, but Dey was able to buck and stand up.  Once on the feet, they clinched and Dey landed two knees before working for an omoplata.  Unable to get the tap, Dey transitioned to a heel hook.  Behena was tough to finish and continued to punch his way out of the submissions.  Dey was able to put Behena in his guard, and quickly worked an armbar.  The submission was in deep, but Behena defended well.  Dey rolled and the arm looked to be in bad shape.  Behena, sensing his arm was about to break, verbally submitted.

The co-main event featured light heavyweights Ivan Garcia and Andrew Navickis.  The exciting three round fight had the crowd going crazy.  In the first round Navickis used leg kicks to keep Garcia at bay.  When Garcia would rush in and clinch, Navickis landed several knees.  Navickis used a guillotine choke to take Garcia down, but both fighters quickly stood.  Navickis looked like he had a standing guillotine choke, however Garcia was able to escape.  Navickis scored another takedown with time running out in the round and tried to finish it with strikes but was unable to.  Round two was extremely close.  Garcia again attempted a takedown, but it was Navickis who was able to get it.  Garcia defended well with submission attempts but Navickis threw the legs to the side and got Garcia’s back.  Garcia countered by spinning into Garcia and able to get the mount.  Navickis bucked and was able to stand up.  An extremely close round that could have been scored for either fighter.  The final round Navickis came out with a spinning backlist that just missed.  Both fighters were swinging wildly looking for a finishing blow.  Garcia was stalking Navickis and able to close the distance working knees and punches from the clinch.  Garcia was clearly controlling the fight at this point and with time running out, both fighters attempted big strikes but neither landed.  With a close second round that could go either way, it was no surprise that the judges were split in their decision for Garcia.

The main event featured undefeated Matt Tierney taking on Danny Morales for the FCE welterweight title.  Both fighters came out swinging and looking to cause damage.  Morales used leg kicks to set up his punches.  Tierney was able to clinch and take Morales down on two separate occasions, but Morales just popped back up.  Both fighters started to find their range when Morales landed a spinning backlist sending Tierney down to the floor.  Morales quickly jumped on the wounded Tierney and landed two strikes before the ref could stop the action.  Morales became the new FCE welterweight champion with the knockout victory.
