Strikeforce World Grand Prix Results

The Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix finally came to a conclusion Saturday night at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. Although the event was far from a sell out, those in attendance and those who watched at home on Showtime were treated to an excellent night of MMA. Underdog Daniel Cormier was able to defeat Josh Barnett via unanimous decision to take home the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix title. In the co-main event it was Gilbert Melendez who defeated Josh Thompson by a razor thin decision to retain his Strikeforce Lightweight championship.
