UFC 105 is set to take place on Saturday November 14 2009 from the Manchester Evening News Arena in Manchester, England. While no bouts have been officially announced, Michael Bisping has stated he will be on the card. Additionally sources close to the event have stated that fight agreements have been sent out and should be signed shortly between “The Ultimate Fighter 9″ winner, James Wilks vs Matt Brown as well as DaMarques Johnson vs Peter Sobotta.
DeMarques Johnson (9-7) was the only “Team USA” cast member to make it to the finals of season 9 of “The Ultimate Fighter”. Johnson was a favorite leading up to the finale, but he lost to James Wilks via submission.
Peter Sobotta (8-2) made his UFC debut at “UFC 99: The Comeback” where he lost a decision to Paul Taylor. Sobotta has agreed to take the fight, however military commitments might make him unavailable for the show.
The fight between Johnson and Sobotta will likely take place on the night’s preliminary card and has potential walking paper ramifications to the loser.
James Wilks (6-2) who defeated Johnson to win season 9 of “The Ultimate Fighter” looks to continue his four-fight winning streak. However he runs into arguably the stiffest competition any Ultimate Fighter winner has ever faced in their first fight after the finales in Matt Brown.
Matt Brown (9-7) took part of season 7 of “The Ultimate Fighter” and has since amassed a record of 3-1 inside the octagon. His lone loss was a split decision awarded to Dong Hyun Kim at “UFC 88: Breakthrough”.
UFC 105 is set to air on SpikeTV via tape delay.
