UFC 103 Live Gate And Bonuses

UFC 103 took place in Dallas, Texas September 19th at the American Airlines Center. The UFC was riding high with an attendance record of 17,428 fans in attendance and a live gate of $2.4 Million and including $65,000 bonuses.
Vitor Belfort (19-8) and Brian Foster (12-4) each earned $65,000 in bonuses for their fights. Rick Story earned $130,000 in bonuses as he earned two awards for the night.
Story and Foster put on the “Fight of the Night” with an incredible back and forth brawl in the first round. Story used his superior wrestling and put Foster on his back in the second round. From within Foster’s guard, Story submitted Foster with an incredibly powerful arm triangle choke. With Story displaying the grip strength of a boa constrictor, he earned himself the “Submission of the Night” bonus as well.
Vitor Belfort returned to the UFC with a bang, taking out former middleweight champion Rich Franklin (25-5) in the first round by technical knock out. He earned the “Knock out of the Night” bonus for his dominance against Franklin. The knockout puts Belfort near the top for a title shot with Anderson Silva as Dana White said “I think Vitor is ready to fight Anderson Silva”.
