Matt “The Law” Lindland Signs With Strikeforce

Matt Lindland
MMAWeekly.com is reporting that Matt “The Law” Lindland (21-6) has signed a three-fight contract with Strikeforce. Lindland’s contract was one of the few not picked up by the UFC after Affliction had agreed to stop holding events.
Lindland will make a nice addition to the Strikeforce’s middleweight division where he could potentially face Jake Shields, Robbie Lawler, Cung Le, Frank Shamrock and others. A bout between Shields and Lindland was originally supposed to take place at “Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg” however due to the number of title fights already in place, the bout could not find a home on the card.
Lindland last saw action at “Affliction: Day Of Reckoning” where he was brutally knocked out by new UFC signee Vitor Belfort less than a minute into the first round. It is expected that Lindland will make his Strikeforce debut at the next major event rumored to be sometime in October.
