Fightcard Entertainment Announces “Cross The Line”
After a co-main event fight between Luke Austin and Mickey Martin, FCE Owner Brian Angelo stated Austin would be getting a title shot against current FCE middleweight champion Jeremy Godinia in February. FCE has officially announced their February card, “Cross the Line” which will take place Saturday February 20 at Showtime in Crestwood, IL.
Austin earned his way to the title fight at “Final Conflict” where he needed only 41 seconds to submit his opponent Martin. After landing a big right hand that dropped Martin, Austin quickly seized the guillotine choke for the victory.
Godinia earned the middleweight belt in October at “No Mercy”. Godinia defeated Ron Ermillo in a crowd-pleasing back and forth battle. After two rounds, Godinia was the fresher opponent and took advantage of a mistake by Ermillo. Just 46 seconds into the third round, Godinia locked in a darse choke and got the tapout he was looking for.
Both fighters have shown they have heavy hands and a solid ground game. This will no doubt be a difficult title defense for Godinia and could easily become fight of the night.
Showtime is located at 13343 South Cicero Ave, Crestwood, IL 60445. Showtime is an elegant 25,000 square foot venue that hosts comedy shows, boxing/mma shows and more. Over 1,000 fans can be comfortably accommodated for live sporting events and can be treated to some of the best spirits including Dos Lunas Tequilla at the largest bar in the area.
No other fights have been announced for this fight as of yet. Tickets will be available starting in January at fightcard.net. General admission tickets are $25 during the pre-sale and $35 at the door.
