UFC is kicking off their new relationship with Fox with a variety of cards spread across all of the Fox networks. The first sister network to receive it’s own live card is FX with UFC on FX 1: Guillard vs Miller. The co-main event for the night features two fighters who have more experience than most; Duane “Bang” Ludwig and Josh Neer.

Ludwig recently was informed by the UFC that his victory from UFC Fight Night 3 over Jonathan Goulet would in fact be the fastest knockout in UFC history. Of course the state of Nevada hasn’t changed their timing on it, but at least Ludwig has Dana White and company on his side.

Prior to the good news from the UFC, Ludwig has compiled a two-fight win streak. Recently he bested Amir Sadollah at UFC Live 5 winning a unanimous decision with his impressive kickboxing skills. His victory before came at UFC 122 where he won a split decision over Nick Osipczak that ended a dreaded two-fight losing streak.

Neer returned to the UFC for the fourth time at UFC live 6 when he took on Keith Wisniewski. He earned the TKO victory after just two rounds of fighting by causing massive lacerations on Wisniewski’s face to force a doctor’s stoppage. The victory was Neer’s fifth straight, all by some form of stoppage.

Ludwig is a highly decorated striker having won multiple kickboxing tournaments. His striking was showcased in his last fight against Sadollah, a fight many thought Ludwig was going to lose.

Neer meanwhile is a bit more well rounded and has been inside the cage with some of the best in the business, including a fight against Eddie Alvarez for Bellator prior to his five fight win streak. There isn’t much Neer hasn’t seen inside the cage and it is unlikely that Ludwig will have anything that surprises him.

Neer will likely be the oddsmakers favorite in this fight, and I see him winning it too. I am predicting an all out war for three rounds, giving the fans an exciting fight to remember. Outside of the main event, this is likely going to be the Fight of the Night award winner as well.
